Renault announced that the new generation of Renault Megane will be launched at the Paris Auto Saloon.The new Megane borrowed design lines available on the Megane Coupe concept and elements that exist on the new generation of Laguna.There are rumors that this new generation will have 1.2l,1.6l and 2.0l gas engines  and 1.5l and 1.9l diesel engines.

The top version of this new generation of Renault Megane will have 225HP.On the other hand the entry level version of the car will have a 1.2l TCE engine,the same as on the Clio model.

According to the design bosses at Volkswagen,Walter da Silva and Klaus Bischoff,the new generation of hatchbacks is a lot different than the old golf 5,borrowing more elegant lines form the other models,like rear optical blocks,borrowed from Touareg.

The interior,major modifications have been made,was isolated against the sound a lot better and the materials used for the main console and the door panels,are made out of a plastic material that is softer and more pleasant to touch.

The entry level gas version has an 1.4l engine with 80Hp that can consume 6.4l on 100km and throw out 149g/km CO2.The 1.4l engine will also have other versions among which one with 102Hp,one with 122HP, and one with 160Hp.

The diesel fans will be able to opt for tow TDI versions 110hp and 140HP and a top level of 170Hp.The consume announced by the producer for all the diesel versions is one improved.The 110hp eats 4.5l for 100km and throws 119g/km,the 140hp eats 4.9l for 100km and throes 129g/km CO2.

All engines even if it is gas or petrol,will have a semiautomated gear box with a double clutch DSG with 6 or 7 gears except the entry-level versions.

The new Golf 6 will be launched on the European market in October and Africa, Asia, Australia and North America will get it by the end of the year.The starting price for the car is 16.500 euro or about 23000$ Read the rest of this entry »

Porsche proposes it`s public two special versions,Porsche Cayman S Sport and  Boxtser S Porsche Design Edition 2.

Both special editions pass 300Hp,thanks to the 6 cylinder 3.4l engine helped to breath better by a new sports evacuation system.Cayman S Sport and Boxster Porsche Design Edition 2 have 303Hp,with 8 more than the standard versions.

Boxster S Porsche Design Edition 2 is available on white Carrera color and comes equiped with Sport Design 19″ wheels,site air locks and gray vinyls on the body.On the interior,the Germans modified the central console and the background of the bord instruments.

Porsche Cayman S Sport will have 303Hp under the hood and will be available only 700 units.The suspension will be lowered with  10mm and the vinyls applied on the body will fulfill the sportive look.

The exterior will be available in many colors.The interior has an accessories package Sport Chrono and alcantara leather tapestry.Both versions will be available in showrooms by the middle of September.

Volkswagen created a special concept for the people that love navigation,the base of this project is the SUV Touareg.

The concept was made by the designers from Volkswagen in collaboration with the guys at North Sails and will be revealed in premiere during the “Travemunder Woche” event,the second size meeting of the navigation passioned people from Germany.

The concept is individualized at the exterior through the 19″ alloy wheels and the vinyls applied on the sides of the SUV.

The interior,personalizes the SUV at the maximum,the designers placing a series of elements that borrow the charm of the luxury yachts:wooden floor,lighten up,North Sails insertions ,white tapestry and a binocular. Volkswagen Touareg North Sails comes in the standard version with a special bike.

Unfortunately,Volkswagen doesn`t intend to produce the Touareg concept in a series,they want it to remain a project.

Lotus revealed the first images of the new model,Eagle,after a couple of weeks ago they presented the first teaser.Also the British supercar constructor gave some details about the new model that is to be presented during the London Auto Saloon in 22 of July.

The new coupe 2+2 ultra light made by Lotus is expected by the fans of the brand,being the first new conception model after aprox. 13years and the only engine positioned in the middle that will get in a series production.Lotus Eagle will be powered by a V6 3.5l engines with 280Hp coming from a Toyota with a VVT-i technology for high performance.

The new Lotus supercar is considered by some of the auto engineers as being fast enough for the famous Nurburgring circuit,bypassing Elise`s performances and being more stable at high speeds than Exige.Lotus announced the new Eagle will reach 257km/h and will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in less than 5s. The third body type of the 308 family,the CC version,came out to the light today,as a preview of the Paris Auto Saloon.Peugeot 308 CC it the third version of car,following the Hatchack and SW(Sport Wagon) versions.

The Coupe-cabrio version or the 308 will be available in the european Peugeot showrooms starting with the end of this year.The petrol engines will be available in three models:1.6l with 120Hp,1.6l Turbo with 150 and 170 HP.Peugeot prepared two diesel engines for the 308 CC: 1.6l with 110Hp and 2.0l with 136Hp

Also,it is expected for Peugeot to prepare a Hybrid version of the CC.If this will come true,308CC will be the first hybrid car of Peugeot. Read the rest of this entry »

The first real pictures of Ferrari California showed up.The germans at Autobild managed to obtain the new images with the Ferrari.These pictures express the value of the design of California.We also found some pictures with the interior of this impressive super car.

The Ferrari officials announced that the new Ferrari California will be presented, for the first time,to the public in September at the Paris Auto saloon.

Ferrari California is expected to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in less than 4 seconds.This is done thanks to a new V8 4.3l engine with 460Hp and a new transmission system with 7 gears and a double clutch. Read the rest of this entry »

Volkswagen is preparing a huge bomb in the next two years.They are going to launch a series model that will consume 1 liter for 100km.The German producer presented in 2002 a concept that will consume 1 liter of fuel for 100km,and since than it was planed that the series model to launch in 2012

Acording to the latest rumors,the VW engineers are ahead schedule with this project,also helped by the price drop of carbon fiber in the last years.

The carbon fiber structure of the Volkswagen vehicle and the unique design are the main arguments  for obtaining a model with such low fuel demands.For obtaining the same performances with the previous model,Volkswagen has to keep the design and streamlined shape,meaning that the series model will have a small width,of 1.25m and a friction force of only 0.159.The motorization will be very economic,most likely a small 2 cylinders diesel engine,build out of aluminum for a low weight.

Maserati soled for 5 years since the Quattroporte model came out about 15.000 cars,thing that makes it one of the most sold italian cars.The success of the Quattroporte determined the italians from Maserati not to change the technical configuration or the design to much.

This is the reason for which Maserati has done a minor facelift to the Quattroporte model design and has brought some improvements at the technical chapter.At the looks chapter,the main modifications brought to the new model are visible on the front grill and the new headlights.The sport lines of the exterior design are more visible in the restyled version,especially if we look at the new Quattroporte from the side.Also the mirrors have a new shape,being in the same time more streamlined. Japan makes efforts to raise the hybrid car production around the world.According to a declaration of the Japanese producer,around 10000 cars that run on electricity or gas will be made every year in the factory from Altona,S-E of Australia.

Toyota became the first mass production producer of hybrid cars,starting with more than 10 years ago with the Prius model.Toyota is betting on the raise of hybrid car needed by the population in the conditions of gas prices going up like mad and the temperature raising on the globe.
